Wow, I just looked at the date stamp on my last post and I can’t believe how long it’s been! I always forget just how busy December gets leading up to the holidays (and holiday shows); between catching up with friends before the year is out, attending parties, and handcrafting gifts for the majority of people on my “nice” list, I always overbook myself.
For the first time ever, I’m not spending the holidays with my own family; instead, I’m enjoying a whirlwind tour down my sweetie’s Childhood-Memory Lane at his family’s home on Prince Edward Island. They are lovely, warm people and wonderfully welcoming, but of course it’s a bit strange adapting to someone else’s traditions, and there has been considerably less quiet time than I’m used to. I’m taking a moment now to hang out with a purring kitty (who kept me up much of the night by threatening to eat some edible gifts) and regroup before the extended family starts pouring in for turkey dinner.
I really want to show off the clever handmade gifts I put together, but we haven’t got around to opening presents yet and I don’t want to spoil anything. Expect of flood of pictures tomorrow, though!
Wishing you all a safe and happy day, whether you are celebrating or not,
